Scholarship Overview

  • The Australian Government department of education and training is offering scholarship to foreign nationals for Vocational Education and Training (VET).

  • This scholarship is available at any Australian educational institution offering eligible courses (as described below). 
Scholarship Description:


  • The Endeavour Vocational Education and Training (VET) Scholarship provides financial support for international applicants to undertake vocational education at a Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree level in any field in Australia for up to 2.5 years. Vocational education and training provides occupational or work-related knowledge and skills. The courses are directly related to a trade, occupation or 'vocation' in which the applicant participates. These courses exclude degree and higher level programs normally delivered by universities.

Eligibility

To be eligible to receive an Endeavour scholarship or fellowship, applicants must: 
  • be aged 18 years or over at the commencement of their program  
  • be a citizen and/or permanent resident of a participating country 
  •  commence their proposed program after 1 January 2018 and no later than 30 November 2018. Applicants who have already commenced or will commence their intended program prior to 2018 are not eligible to apply 
  • provide all relevant supporting documentation which inclede:
  1.   scan and attach their supporting documentation specified for the category for which they are applying 
  2. If the document is not in English provide both the original and an English translation 
  3. provide certified (attested) copies of: - Passport, Birth Certificate, or Australian Citizenship Certificate - Academic transcripts - IELTS, TOEFL, CAE or PTE results.
  •  not currently hold or have completed, after 1 January 2016, an Australian Government sponsored scholarship and/or fellowship (directly administered to recipients by the Australian Government).  
  •  not apply for a category in which they have already completed an Endeavour scholarship or fellowship
This scholarship is only available for the following course levels:
  • Diploma(The Diploma is the technical officer, associate or para-professional qualification depending on the occupation. Students develop the skills and knowledge to plan, implement, analyse and evaluate creative, technical or managerial applications or programmes. They require a substantial depth of knowledge in areas where judgement is required. Entry generally requires the equivalent to Year 12 education or the completion of a Certificate IV in the discipline. Diplomas may be gained through a wide range of pathways including work-based and/or institution-based training and recognition of prior learning. Time taken varies according to the particular pathways and industry involved, with full-time study at a university or vocational education and training institution typically involving the equivalent of two years for the Diploma.)
  • Advanced Diploma (The Advanced Diploma is a more specialised qualification and signifies skill and knowledge of a greater complexity and a higher level of personal accountability than is required at a Diploma level. It recognises capacity for initiative and judgment across a broad range of technical and/or management functions. Skills include developing new criteria, application, knowledge or procedures. Advanced Diplomas may be gained through a wide range of pathways including work-based and/or institution-based training and recognition of prior learning. Time taken varies according to the particular pathways and industry involved, with full-time study at a university or vocational education and training institution typically involving the equivalent of up to three years for the Advanced Diploma.)

Scholarship Duration:

  • 2.5 years

What does the scholarship cover?

  • The scholarship is valued at approximately $131,000, including tuition of up to $6,500 per semester, for 2.5 years. Benefits include: travel allowance of $3,000 (provision to pay up to $4,500 under special circumstances); establishment allowance of $2,000 (fellowships) or $4,000 (scholarships); monthly stipend of $3,000 (paid up to the maximum category duration on a pro-rata basis); health insurance for the full category duration (OSHC for international recipients); and travel insurance (excluding during programme for international recipients). Endeavour scholarship recipients will also receive tuition fees paid up to the maximum study/research duration on a pro-rata basis. Tuition includes student service and amenities fees.
